It's been a busy few weeks working on the rail trails project and we're delighted that we've had some recent focus on it now from both local and regional media. We've had mentions in press from the University of Worcester and the Worcester News. The project's also seen interest from the BBC and BBC H+W did a subsequent interview with project partners William Whiting and Andy Stevenson recently at Malvern Link railway station.

Rail Trails: Initial Draft Walking Sheet
And we're off.. It's taken some considerable time to work it all out in terms of layout, colourschemes, content, visual style and legibility but we're now looking at one of our first drafts of a possible walking guide sheet for the Rail Trails project. The colourscheme and font usage is derived from the Rail Trails logo and the maping visual system is derived from the existing one used by the Point2 Guides walking sheets I've previously developed and are already in use by the public.

Rail Trails: Developing Wireframes of the Map Sheets
We've been busy with the planning stages again to date and looking into "what goes where" on our map sheets. We have walks that are both horizontal and those which are more vertical so we're planning around needing two map sheet formats.
The project team are to look these through and agree a 'best' set of components per map sheet as our next step.
Rail Trails: Timelapse Showing Drawings and Placement in Illustrator
A (very) quick look at the way the illustrations are created and how we incorporate them into the various route sheets digitally.
